Ainol, $98.54, expan ★★★ Even Apple has realised not everyone wants a big tablet at a matching price. This sub-$100, 7-inch Android tablet runs on Android 4.0.3, or Ice Cream Sandwich. It has Mini USB and Micro SD ports, 8GB of built-in storage for photos and apps, and its screen resolution is 1024x600. This is a wi-fi-only tablet, but it will support a 3G dongle should you wish to add to it. It doesn’t have GPS positioning and its front-facing camera is only 0.3-megapixels — good enough for Skyping but don’t expect to take happy snaps. It doesn’t have Bluetooth, so you can’t connect an external keyboard that way, but it does play 1080p video. If a tablet to you is something simply to check email, browse the web and play Angry Birds, this can do the job.
