ARROW, Channel 9, 8.30pm

Herald Sun - Switched On - - Tuesday -

IT’S the latest reinvention of a DC Comics character but this modern-day twist on Arrow renders the character an unconventional hero. Centre stage is Stephen Amell, who you might recognise from Private Practice and Hung. Amell is the presumed-dead, billion- aire playboy Oliver Queen — not the sort of name that would automatically have the ladies forming an orderly queue. Anyway, Queen has been marooned for five years on a remote island and returns home with a bunch of tricks he uses in his anti-crime campaign. Solid action and reasonable special effects are the order of the day.
