YOU can’t help thinking Emily Symons would make a great mum, but it has never happened and it doesn’t look like it ever will. Symons has been married twice — to singer Nick Lipscombe and aristocrat Lorenzo Smith. Symons said her desire for children and the resultant cycles of IVF treatment were reasons her two-year marriage to Smith failed. Symons is now single — and happy. ‘‘My eggs are dead,’’ Symons says with a laugh. ‘‘I’m too old — 44 in August. I’ve put all that (desire for children) to bed. I’ve completely accepted that won’t be part of my life. ‘‘I’ve seen so much in the last five years that it has really hit home that the life I’ve been given is the life I’m meant to lead. ‘‘It (a relationship) is not something I’m desperate for. I don’t feel like I need a

partner to complete me.’’
