Honeymoon hell in Hamptons

Herald Sun - Switched On - - Gaming -

of back-stabbing and intrigue running through this second season, it’s no surprise the episode ends with the death of a key character. The shock is in who falls off the perch and the manner of the fall.

Henry Czerny, who plays Conrad, loves the mystery element of the show.

‘‘ Every character, whether it’s a regular or a guest star coming in, has a reason to feel vengeful,’’ he says. ‘‘ It’s sewn into the fabric of the show.’’

But doesn’t he at times feel intimidated having to match wits on screen with a group of such powerful women?

‘‘ Shut up, it’s fantastic,’’ he says. ‘‘ It’s what any man would want in his life.’’

His co-star Levieva can’t believe her luck in snaring a role in a drama that showcases the talents of so many women.

Levieva, 33, who was born in Leningrad, went to high school in New Jersey, studied economics at New York University, and in 2005 featured as one of the 50 Most Beautiful People in New York by New York Magazine.

She says she could never have envisaged her interest in acting would land her in a show like Revenge.

‘‘ I think the biggest surprise for me was coming on the show as I did, as this, like, murderer, stripper,’’ she says.

‘‘ And this year, to give birth to a baby, and start a family, and come into the fold along those lines has been a big surprise for me. It’s been amazing, but shocking.’’ Revenge, Channel 7, Monday, 8.40pm
