1 NIKON 1 J3
Nikon, $799, nikon.com.au ★★★★ When you pick up this clever little camera, it’s easy to see why many DSLR users are switching to compact system cameras. With a sleek magnesium alloy body and a back almost filled with a three-inch LCD, the lack of controls hide an impressive list of features. This 14.2-megapixel camera can shoot 15 photos a second using autofocus tracking, or a stunning 60 frames a second if you choose a fixed focal point. It has an ISO range of up to 6400 and supports a wi-fi adaptor. Two ‘‘best moment’’ capture modes plus full-HD video and 400fps slow-motion modes also feature. On the downside, there is no hotshoe for external flash and you have to navigate a menu to select aperture or shutter speed. With its interchangeable lenses and optional waterproof case, this little unit has plenty to offer.
