A PLACE TO CALL HOME, Channel 7, 8.30pm

Herald Sun - Switched On - - Sundayapril -

LET’S start with what’s good: there are some lovely frocks and tea cups because it’s 1953, which was wise, because the ’ 50s are on trend, and because there’s the big secret involving James the son and heir to consider, and it needs to come out in a decade when the family will be upset. Nor is Sarah’s European past going to have the same impact the further away WWII gets. Anyway, you’ll know all about them by the end of this episode. Or suspect. And by then the show’s future is cast: Strong Proud Woman (Sarah) versus Strong Proud Woman (James’ grandmother), surrounded by dead men.
