Seagate, $369 (4TB) seagate.com/au ★★★★ Households with multiple laptops, tablets and smartphones should appreciate Seagate’s solution that offers up to four terabytes of network-connected storage. The Central drive is a large but low-profile black box that connects to a household router and, during set-up, a computer. The Central unit can automatically back up files, and allow those files to be accessed or streamed through the Seagate Media app on any internet-connected device, including smartTVs. For such a large device, it’s risky to rely on just one internal hard drive, but the Seagate Central could solve an entire home’s backup issues.
