SHANE’S on his way from Shiraz to Yazd. He’s still in Iran. It’s mountains and desert and nomads. We don’t get his best side tonight; he’s maybe trying to be amusing and comes off boorish. The food though — pashmak, a high-grade kind of buttery fairy floss — looks delicious. And the bread. And amazing pomegranates. Interesting to see how cheap saffron is. He buys a kilo for a tenth of what it would be here.
