HOUSEWIFE GINA BACK FOR MORE

Herald Sun - Switched On - - ON THE COUCH -

She was the runaway fan favourite, but Gina Liano says she came close to not returning to the second season of The Real Housewives Of Melbourne.

“I made a decision when I finished filming that I wouldn’t’ do another season,” she says.

“I felt drained and I must say the experience wasn’t particularly pleasant.”

But the reaction of viewers when the show went to air made her put aside any reservations.

“The audience support sustained me,” Liano explains. “With their encouragement I thought, ‘Well, I wasn’t really given an opportunity to entertain like I would have wanted to.’ I’ve got a lot of comedy in me so I thought I should give it another shot.”

And Housewives devotees can be glad she has, with plenty of drama, tears and fireworks ahead for the seven women.

The only difference, says Liano, is this time she’s not the only one at the centre of all the scandals.

“Last year was the Gina Liano Show,” she laughs. “Because the dynamics have changed (with two new cast members joining and one leaving) the issues have changed anyway. This season you’ll see disagreements and drama spread across the board. I had a lot more fun.”
