WEST FINDS HIS OWN PLACE FOR A COTTAGE

Herald Sun - Switched On - - ON THE COUCH - / DS

River Cottage Australia host Paul West has bought his own slice of paradise — not far from the real River Cottage in Central Tilba, on the NSW South Coast.

West and partner Alicia Cordia welcomed a son, Otto, in March, and as River Cottage Australia enters its third season, have decided they have found home.

“We’ve bought a block of land not far from here — 10 times as big as here ( River Cottage) — it’s where I envisage being for the rest of my life,” West says.

“I’ve travelled around Australia and lived in many different states and towns.

“It’s taken two years shooting the show here, and this is totally home.

“The show has fostered that because I’ve been out in the community so much. It’s kind of fast-forwarded our integration into the community by like a decade — we know so many people, it’s fantastic.”

The couple are in no hurry to build on the new land — West for now has his hands more than full with River Cottage.

“I don’t know that I could do any other show. I love this one,” West says. RIVER COTTAGE AUSTRALIA, LIFESTYLE CHANNEL, TUESDAY, 8.30PM
