Think you’ve got it tough in the bedroom? Spare a thought for eagles. For them it’s not as straightforward as pouring some wine, or planning a quiet night in. They’ve got an awkward 2.5m wing span to negotiate, no mean feat when you’re perched up a tree. They need to watch out for each other’s “meat cleaver” beak and razor sharp talons , and just when they’ve managed all that, last year’s baby, who had finally left home, wanders back looking for a free feed. It’s a wonder they find time to breed at all.
