WHAT’S NEW FOR SEASON TWO?

Herald Sun - Switched On - - FRONT PAGE -

When it launched earlier this year, Gogglebox proved that audiences love to see ordinary people watching TV. So what can we expect from the hit show’s second season?

All cast members will be back, and executive producer David McDonald says this time they’ll have a chance to reveal more of their personalities.

“For the first series, the concept of the show was hard enough for everyone to get their head around,” he says.

In the off season, longtime partners Wayne and Tom got engaged, and posh couple Di and Mick (above) have become grandparents for the first time.

“Thinking of Di with a maternal side is quite amusing. Some of the reality moments they had were all about how Mick was a terrible father, didn’t help change nappies, and they were having an argument about it,” McDonald says

As to what they’ll be watching? “We just had a fabulous news story (Turnbull v Abbott), what a shame they couldn’t have waited a couple of weeks for it.

“It’s funny because I think the news item in our first episode was that the spill was on, and here we are six months later, it’s actually happened.”
