PROUD TO BE A TANNER, AGAIN
Candace Cameron Bure is truly the epitome of a child star made good.
Unlike many of her contemporaries who fell into the various traps that fame can lay, she has managed to not only survive but flourish. In fact, today Cameron Bure is busier than ever.
She has returned alongside all of her Full House co-stars to shoot the rebooted Fuller House, is a presenter on the hit US daytime talk show The View and is both producing and starring in the Aurora Teagarden Mystery movies.
Cameron Bure plays the titular heroine in the made-for-TV films. A feisty librarian who heads up the local unsolved murder mystery club, Aurora unwittingly finds herself at the centre of much of the drama.
But while the books on which the films are based were written by Charlaine Harris — who also penned the novels which gave way to True Blood — this series is decidedly G-rated.
“I prefer things that are a little more family friendly,” Cameron Bure says.
“I choose the types of projects that I do because it’s what I enjoy watching in real life. I want to be able to sit in the comfort of my home and watch things with my kids and not have to blush if I’m watching something that’s maybe inappropriate.”
With two films already made and coming to our screens, a third is about to start production. And the plan is to continue — there are nine books in the series with the possibility of more to come.
But until that time, Cameron Bure has her hands full with what may be one of the most anticipated TV projects for 2016, Fuller House.
With all of the original cast back on board, she’s enjoying stepping back into the “comfortable shoes” of DJ Tanner.
“It’s like none of us ever left,” she says. AURORA TEAGARDEN MYSTERY: A BONE TO PICK, 13TH STREET, TUESDAY, 8.30PM
