These headphones from AudioTechnica find a problem in the design of some Bluetooth headphones and offer an alternative.

Putting the Bluetooth link and battery into the earpieces means some wireless earphones can be a bit bulky in your ears.

This design takes the bulk and moves it to a small box that sits behind your head while an added air chamber is designed to boost the bass. The result is that the ear buds are lighter in the ear but the pay-off means you have a somewhat bulky box sitting on the back of your head, with the wire hanging down the side of your face connecting to the rigid necklace-like shape of the frame on your neck.

These wireless headphones will suit many activities but not all — runners and gym junkies could find the dangling cords near their face and rear bracket annoying.

They have a battery life of five hours, which is adequate but not outstanding, and take three hours to recharge.

On the plus side, the remote control and microphone is well placed to ensure better sound quality than wireless designs that have the microphone close to an ear.
