This small speaker might not have the sound quality of a home system but what it lacks in power it makes up for with rugged appeal. With an IPX7 waterproof rating, this speaker will survive a dunk in the pool and features a screw-in plug to keep its charging port covered. It will even float. The speaker comes with a bike mount, or you could prop it in the shower. You connect it with Bluetooth and it doubles as a speakerphone. The Aquajam is a speaker for those who really do want to take their music anywhere.

Many Bluetooth speakers look alike. This one looks like it should be at the feet of a hipster busker. It is only 22cm long but the Liberate BT has plenty of big-speaker style. Its front is an aluminium grill, with a bamboo panel on its back, and its body is covered in material made from hemp, organic cotton and recycled plastic bottles. The sound quality reflects the quality of workmanship in this small but powerful speaker, with an eight-hour battery life and speakerphone capability.
