Millions of dollars and four years were spent redesigning the hair dryer to create Dyson’s Supersonic and it shows. The revamped appliance includes a motor hidden in its handle, making it more comfortable to hold, audio engineering to make it less noisy, constant temperature monitoring to ensure even heat, and magnetic attachments to focus its air flow. These last two elements have the biggest impact on results, as in our tests they delivered smoother, straighter, shinier hair. It’s not as light or powerful as some, its air intake is oddly placed, and it’s expensive, but the results might be worth it.
