Karl’s solo run at Logies
Anyone hoping to find more romance, on top of the usual drama, at this year’s Logies is set to be heart broken — with some of TV’s hottest couples keeping their love lives off the red carpet.
Channel 9 has confirmed Karl Stefanovic won’t be taking new girlfriend Jasmine Yarbrough as his date, telling Switched On: “Karl is going solo.”
So too his new sister-in-law Sylvia Jeffreys, who will co-host the evening’s fashions preview (with Karl and Lisa Wilkinson), while her new hubby Peter is away filming a news story for 60 Minutes.
The stars of Foxtel’s thriller, The Kettering Incident, and nominees Elizabeth Debicki and Tilda CobhamHervey will also both be no-shows, with local fans yet to see them out and about with their significant others.
Debicki’s partner, Alexander England (who plays Asher Keddie’s on-screen love interest Harry Crew) will attend with his Offspring co-stars; while Debicki is away promoting Marvel movie Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and preparing for her next film role in Widows alongside Viola Davis.
Cobham-Hervey — nominated for the Graham Kennedy Award for Most Outstanding Newcomer — recently went public with her relationship with Lion star Dev Patel, but both are away filming the final scenes of the movie where they met, Hotel Mumbai.
On the ‘yes’ guest list are Keddie and her artist husband Vincent Fantauzzo; as well as last year’s Gold Logie winner Waleed Aly and wife Susan Carland, while his co-star Carrie Bickmore is taking mum, Jennie.
