NICK Cave and The Bad Seeds have joined forces with music legend Iggy Pop in support of PETA.

The rockers will release an animated video encouraging people to “be the person your dog thinks you are”. For the campaign, Cave (left) wrote and sung Breathless, an uncharacteristically upbeat tune urging people to take an active role in animal welfare. “The rabbit hides beneath the ground,” he sings, “For he is defenceless without you.”

The track accompanies a cartoon Pop, who is depicted saving various creatures in his dog’s dream.

“Nick Cave and Iggy Pop left PETA breathless with this sweet video,” PETA president Ingrid Newkirk said.
