Daniel gets to the art of the sport

Herald Sun - - CONFIDENTIAL -

DANIEL RICCIARDO’s appreciation of street art could pay dividends for charity.

The F1 ace is the subject of a piece by Perth artist PAUL DEEJ (right), commissioned by carsales.com.au for whom Ricciardo is the global ambassador. “I do like some street art,’’ he said. “I guess I appreciate the work that goes into it. To some people, it looks sometimes simple but it’s obviously not always like that.

“It’s a bit like racing, you know people say, well I drive a car every day so what makes you so special ... there’s obviously a lot more to it.”

The artwork, signed by Ricciardo, will be auctioned on March 26 in Melbourne to raise funds for the White Ribbon Foundation.
