TWO po­lice of­fi­cers have been charged by the state’s peak anti-cor­rup­tion body af­ter a probe into al­le­ga­tions re­lat­ing to ac­cess­ing sen­si­tive po­lice in­for­ma­tion, dis­clo­sure, mak­ing a false state­ment and per­jury.

The IBAC in­ves­ti­ga­tion started in 2017 with the of­fi­cers, a sergeant and a for­mer de­tec­tive se­nior con­sta­ble, to face Mel­bourne Mag­is­trates’ Court.

The sergeant faces of­fences in­clud­ing four counts of “dis­clos­ing re­stricted mat­ters’’ and the for­mer de­tec­tive se­nior con­sta­ble was charged with four counts of unau­tho­rised ac­cess, use or dis­clo­sure of po­lice in­for­ma­tion.
