VICTORIA Lee doesn’t profess to be a racing expert, but believes Ladbrokes Guineas contender Tavisan has a shot today in the $2 million Group 1 race at Caulfield.

“He was very calm and looks in incredible shape,” the David Jones ambassador said. Visiting Caulfield for the first time yesterday, Lee was excited to get up close with the three-year-old colt.

“Amazing, he was so impressive and very well behaved,” she added.

Trainer Mick Price is hoping to go back to back with Tavisan after winning the Guineas last year with 100-1 outsider Mighty Boss, who contests the Caulfield Cup next week.

Ladbrokes Guineas Day will features four Group 1 races.

A line-up of notable guests will complement the on-track talent, including style ambassadors Moana Hope and Isabella Carlstrom, hatmaker Nick Fouquet and Lindy Rama-Ellis.

Melbourne Racing Club CEO Josh Blanksby says this year’s carnival is the most unique, exciting and varied yet.
