GALLOPING TO GLOAT
PAGE 13 loves nothing more than a turf war with that other state.
This week Melbourne again proved we are all class. Just ask Racing Minister MARTIN PAKULA, who almost galloped to the podium to help launch the Stella Artois Caulfield Cup Carnival at the Stokehouse.
The minister announced a $33 million package for Victorian racing if the Andrews Government wins next month’s election.
He gave an emphatic speech, denouncing the dodgy behaviour in the Harbour City around the Everest race series.
“We are very lucky in Victoria that we have a racing industry that would never allow itself to be associated with behaviour of that nature,” he said.
