EDITOR’S WELCOME

Highfields' Own - - COMMUNITY - CLARE STANDFAST clare.standfast@thechronicle.com.au

It’s so hard to believe that we’re in April! Naturally, the Darling Downs is baring its cooler weather and it’s the perfect excuse to start rugging up in beautiful winter fashion.

This edition of Highfields’ Own has made me feel very involved and close to the community, which is what Highfields is known for and a reason it’s so special — it engages everyone.

I’ve met some absolutely wonderful ladies who have rebranded the Markets at the Manor to the Highfields Village Markets, creating a beautiful, family-oriented space for the community to enjoy every second Saturday of the month.

This month our cover is graced by local kinesiologist Amy Manz of Blissful Essence — what a woman!

She has been an absolute joy to work with.

Amy also played a huge part in our main feature this month, The Age of Anxiety, where we talk about the development of anxiety in today’s society and the involvement of holistic health.

Credit must go to Arbonne make-up maestro Joanna Maloney for making Amy extra-beautiful on cover shoot day, and the Highfields Pioneer Village for giving us such a funky, green and gorgeous location.

I hope you enjoy this edition as much as I always enjoy gathering all of the wonderful pieces to put it together.

As always, drop me a line — I love hearing from you.

My best,
