Highfields' Own - - Community - CLARE STANDFAST clare.standfast@thechronicle.com.au

It’s definitely frosty — the fog is rolling in most mornings, the unforgiving wind is whipping its way into each day — yes, as usual, Highfields is giving us a winter to remember.

Nevertheless, it is beautiful, and I adore seeing the leaves turn golden and red at this time of year.

In this edition of Highfields’ Own I’m very excited to introduce you to the wonderful Jackwitz family — or, as they’re more commonly known, The Barefoot Farmers.

They grace our cover this month at their beautiful farm in Groomsville, between Hampton and Crows Nest.

Their story begins on page 12 — it’s something you won’t want to miss.

I’m very excited to say that in this edition we’ve invited some friendly faces back to write regular columns for us!

Many of you will remember our two most recent cover ladies — Meringandan blogging sensation Bindy Scott from the February/march edition of Highfields’ Own, and Highfields registered kinesiologist Amy Manz from our April/may edition.

We’re so excited to have the contributions of these wonderful women in our magazine.

See Amy’s column on page 21 and Bindy’s column on page 23.

As always, don’t hesitate to say hello — we love hearing from you! I hope you enjoy this edition. My best,
