FREE yoga and exercise classes to help improve the lives of people living with cancer and their carers will start next month in Midvale and Glen Forrest.

The Cancer Council’s Life Now six-week program guides participants through gentle stretching to help improve fitness, flexibility and overall wellbeing.

“This program has previously helped many cancer patients and survivors through their treatment and recovery,” a Cancer Council spokeswoman said.

“We have received overwhelming positive feedback from participants.”

People with a cancer diagnosis in the past two years or those undergoing or who have completed cancer treatment are eligible.

The 12-week program starts on May 19, with classes run by an exercise physiologist. Research shows most people benefit from exercise and complementary therapies during and after cancer treatment.
