Hills Gazette (Kalamunda) - - OPINION - COLIN HUGHES, Greenmount

RECENTLY I asked the Ramsay Health Care group to sponsor Mental Health Research through a tax deductible charity. They declined despite their CEO Chris Rex earning $22.2 million.

Australian taxpayers give the private insurance industry $6.5 billion in health insurance rebates, not to mention 85 per cent of Medicare payments.

Meantime our communitybased organisations donated $31,000 through sausage sizzles and local markets for mental health, which affects one in seven children and goes on to affect one in five adults.

Does anyone being paid by the taxpayer deserve such salaries?
