Reaction to funds positive

Hills Gazette (Kalamunda) - - NEWS -

STUDENTS at HillSide Christian College will have full use of a new science block which includes two laboratories and a science preparation area, thanks to funding from the Federal Government.

Hasluck MHR Ken Wyatt officially opened the new facility in Forrestfield last week.

“It was great to visit HillSide Christian College and see the new facilities first-hand and the impact they will have on students’ learning potential,” Mr Wyatt said.

The Federal Government provided $310,000 in funding from the capital grants program, which provides funding to non-government schools to improve capital infrastructure.

Mr Wyatt said students and the whole school community would benefit from the new facilities.

“The Australian Government is committed to putting science, technology, engineering and mathematics at the heart of school education,” he said.
