Taste for expansion

Hills Gazette (Kalamunda) - - NEWS -

LONE Star Rib House and Mad Mex Fresh Mexican Grill are on their way to Midland Gate as part of the shopping centre’s $100 million expansion, which is on track for completion later this year.

Work continues on the refurbishment upgrade to the shopping centre’s Cale Street dining precinct, with Mad Mex opening in July and Lone Star expected to follow in August.

Midland Gate centre manager Alison Broadbent said it was hoped the rejuvenated Cale Street precinct would become a family favourite.

“With something to suit every tastebud, the new-look Cale Street will be a vibrant entertainment area for families to enjoy day or night,” she said.

The changes to the dining precinct are part of a major expansion and redevelopment project that will increase the size of Midland Gate by more than 20 per cent to nearly 70,000sq m.

On target for a grand relaunch in November, Midland Gate will grow to accommodate another 35 speciality retailers, bringing the total number of retailers to 215.

There will be about the same number of parking bays but there will be 250 new undercover bays in the basement carpark and 470 car bays on the rooftop.

The shopping centre will also have LED bays available, and signage along The Crescent to the roof deck and basement parking.

The Midland Gate expansion includes more food options.
