Hills Gazette (Kalamunda) - - NEWS - Blair Jackson

A FORMER primary school principal intends to plead not guilty to child sex charges when his case continues in a Perth court in September.

Peter Graham Flavel made a brief appearance in Midland Magistrates Court yesterday, where the matter was adjourned to Perth for a committal hearing on September 10.

Bail conditions that allow Mr Flavel to have contact with his own children but restrict contact with other children aged under 16 were renewed.

Defence lawyer Tim Monaghan indicated outside of court that Mr Flavel would plead not guilty to charges of sexual penetration of a child under 13 and indecent dealings with a child under 13.

He is accused of sexually assaulting an eight-year-old boy in 2008.

When he was charged in March, Mr Flavel was principal of Woodlupine Primary School. The charges relate to incidents that allegedly took place at another primary school where Mr Flavel was principal.
