Swan’s low rate
SWAN Council has adopted a 1.8 per cent rate increase, the lowest increase in more than 17 years. Councillors debated between two possible scenarios after advertising no rate rise and a 1.8 per cent rise. Mayor David Lucas said the difference was only $36 for the year and the City had to be realistic. “The City can't keep up projects and services and can't keep up expectations if we don't have an increase,” he said.
