Foot chase nabs teens

MUN­DAR­ING Po­lice caught teenagers al­legedly at­tempt­ing a get­away on foot with goods stolen from a house in Green­mount Rise on Mon­day.

Two of­fi­cers were driv­ing by when they saw a man wheel­ing a suit­case in Scott Street, to­wards the bri­dle path near Astroloma Place.

Mun­dar­ing of­fi­cer-in­charge Sergeant Jeff Tay­lor said a sec­ond man car­ry­ing cooler bags ran off when he saw the of­fi­cers.

Mid­land De­tec­tives as­sisted in the chase and re­cov­ered $2000 of valu­ables, al­co­hol and cash.

Kyle Turner (18) of Midvale and a 17-year-old from Koongamia were charged with steal­ing, ag­gra­vated bur­glary and com­mit­ting an of­fence.

The 18 year old is due to reap­pear in Mid­land Mag­is­trates Court on Septem­ber 26.
