RETHINK CALL FOR LEASHES
RE “Call for tighter leash on owners”, Gazette, September 29.
I have lived in Glen Forrest for more than 25 years and am now on my third rescue dog.
I rarely have them on a leash as the dogs enjoy sniffing around the parks and the walking trail.
I do feel sorry for the lady who had her hip done but it was her dogs that tripped her over.
I see dogs being dragged as the owner is too busy to allow the dog to sniff or meet other dogs.
Dogs are pack animals and enjoy meeting other dogs.
I would suggest we stop the idiots on bikes who think the Railway Reserves Heritage Trail is a race track, but that would be infringing on their freedom as is leashing our dogs.
