Atmosphere will be electric
WUNDOWIE’S Hurricane Go Kart Club will host the EV Challenge powered by Synergy tomorrow, with local residents and schools jumping on board to build and race their own electric vehicles.
The event is aimed at teams and asks them to develop small, single-seat electric prototype vehicles to cover as many laps of the circuit in one hour as possible from a limited amount of electrical energy.
The vehicles must be between 1.5m and 2.7m long and be powered solely by an electric motor and battery, and built within a restricted budget.
Synergy chief executive Jason Waters said he was pleased Synergy was sponsoring the event for the first time.
“We are thrilled to be the main sponsor of the EV Challenge and are proud of our apprentices and how they’ve demonstrated Synergy’s core values of innovation and collaboration in constructing their own prototype EV,” he said.
The EV Challenge will kick off tomorrow from the Hurricane Go Kart Club.
Spectators are welcome to the free event, with food and drinks available to purchase.
