Young helpers recog­nised

TEENAGE vol­un­teers are win­ners at the Rid­ing for the Dis­abled Hills Group in Sawyers Val­ley.

The Shire of Mun­dar­ing pre­sented the coun­cil’s Ac­cess Mun­dar­ing cit­i­zen­ship award to the group at a cer­e­mony on Aus­tralia Day.

Vol­un­teer Ryan Kertesz (15) was one of the teenagers to be recog­nised.

“As a vol­un­teer, it is nice for our ef­forts to be ac­knowl­edged in this way and it is bet­ter still be­ing part of such a great group at RDA Hills Group,” he said

Rid­ing for the Dis­abled Group pres­i­dent Re­bekah Mil­lard (25) said com­mu­ni­ty­minded vol­un­teers aged from 13 were en­cour­aged to con­tact the group be­cause more were needed.

Rid­ing ses­sions are held af­ter school on Mon­days, Wed­nes­days and on Satur­day morn­ings.
