Kur­ra­jong res­i­dent Min­nie Biggs will talk about her lat­est novel, Shards of Ice, at Hawkes­bury Cen­tral Li­brary on Fri­day 25 Au­gust, 6pm to 7:30pm.

The book en­twines her trav­els to Antarc­tica and the Red Desert as well as ex­pe­ri­ences of ill­ness, dy­ing and be­reave­ment. Shards of Ice is Min­nie’s first mem­oir and was writ­ten af­ter she sailed to Antarc­tica to get away from the painful mem­o­ries of los­ing her hus­band of 47 years.

Min­nie wrote her first book when she was thir­teen and has been writ­ing ever since. She has also writ­ten about food for the prize-win­ning Sim­ple Cook­ing, es­says on spir­i­tu­al­ity, mu­sic re­views and po­ems.

This free event will be held at Hawkes­bury Cen­tral Li­brary, 300 Ge­orge Street, Wind­sor with re­fresh­ments pro­vided. Book­ings are es­sen­tial via www.hawkes­buryli­ or call the Li­brary on (02) 4560 4460.
