Hills to Hawkesbury Living Magazine - - Community News - By Connie Vallis

Much planning is underway for March 2018, when the 'Computer Pals for Seniors' organisation will celebrate it's birthday, twenty years of voluntary, dedicated service to the people of the 'Hills Shire'.

These days we are all surrounded by the ever increasing and ongoing and often confusing world of computer technology, which to many seniors is extremely daunting, so a voluntary, not for profit club such as 'Computer Pals' is something people need to be made aware of.

However one concern is that few people know of this club's existence, or that it offers them so many courses, including a basic, one pupil - one trainer, two hour a week class, plus several others including Advanced internet, Cloud Storage, Password Management, Facebook, Tablets and Smartphones and much more.

So to encourage new members to consider joining Computer Pals, and to share all this , the club has organised two free open days for Tuesday October 17th from 10.30 am until 2.30 pm, and Friday October 20th, from 10 am until 12 noon, these to be held at the club's teaching rooms in 'The Old Caretaker's Cottage' in the showground at Castle Hill, situated adjacent to The Harvey Lowe Pavilion.

This will enable those interested to observe the club in operation, and to also enjoy a delicious morning tea.

The club operates weekdays only. Bookings for the open days are essential, and can be made by phoning the club on 9899 9131 where, If unanswered a message can be left and the office staff will call you back.

The club is completely manned by a social group of around sixty volunteers, including office staff, technicians, trainers, cleaners and even gardeners.
