“Oh, Not Again!”
By Anita Stevens © 29.12.17 “Please don’t give me ham again, cold turkey or a prawn I’ve never eaten so much since the day I was born! I’m sick of these left-overs - why did you buy so much? I know that you disguise them with culinary touch…
We’ve had them in a salad and hidden in fried rice, Sliced ham in our sandwiches, and curried turkey twice! Ham and eggs for our breakfast, and prawns every night They were all good at Christmas but now have lostdelight!
We loved pork with its crackling, plum pud with brandy sauce, We tucked into pavlova, enjoyed every course
But wading through left-overs - more than I can recallIs getting monotonous and is no fun at all!
I yearn for a good rump steak done on the barbecue, Lashings of fried onions - be honest now, don’t you? A meal that’s plain and simple, the way things used to be No more ruddy left-overs! I’m sick of them, you see!”
