Welcome to the jungle

-

The award-winning Sigatoka River Safari half- day eco and cultural adventure which transports guests deep into the heart and soul of Fiji to experience a day in the life of a kaiviti... and all on board custom-built safari jet boats! After a short stopover in Sigatoka Town, you board a mini coach to begin the adventure, and as soon as you start truckin’ you are immediately surrounded by the rich, fertile lands that make the Sigatoka Valley so stunning. Once you reach the departure point, the crew welcomes everyone with a big “bula” and a cheeky “welcome to the jungle”. The scenic ride up the river is simply sensory overload; the water itself is clear enough to see the fish darting around in Fiji’s longest river. Then it’s time for the highlight of the tour: the village visit. The group is welcomed with such warmth, it’s like stopping for a cuppa with old friends. What’s truly unique about this tour is that it rotates visiting 15 different villages so as not to encroach on local life and traditions. First stop is the Chief house to present your sevusevu (offering) of yaqona, which is often described as a Fijian milkshake – or less flatteringly, as muddy water – followed by some sightseeing of the village before gathering in the community hall for a sumptuous local meal and some dancing.
