Aussies break caravan and camping records

Aussie families just can’t get enough of the great outdoors. The latest visitor numbers released by Tourism Research Australia once again show significant growth in caravan and camping holidays. The year ending September 2016 recorded the highest overall visitor nights (11.78 million nights) and record annual growth (13 per cent increase on the previous year) since 1998. Younger generations are behind this resurgence in popularity, with 34- to 54-year- olds making up 46 per cent of Australian caravanners and campers, well ahead of the 55 years and over demographic who make up 29 per cent of the market. www.tra.gov.au
