Melissa likes to use as many natural fibres as possible when designing children’s bedrooms. “That’s my biggest tip by far,” she says. “Organic fabrics and materials, natural-fibre rugs plus organic dyes help counteract the amount of plastic in a child’s room. I also love to incorporate timber in room designs, even if it’s an all-out colour or monochrome look, as a bit of nature helps to balance everything and give the room some warmth.”
