Scotty Cam shows you how to create a new-from-old timber photo frame.
Make Scotty’s photo frame.
BEGIN WITH TIMBER FRAME; ELECTRIC DRILL; SMALL SCREWS; NATURAL-COLOURED TWINE; OLD-FASHIONED WOODEN PEGS; PHOTOS
STEP ONE Turn the frame over so you can work on the back of the frame. Using the electric drill, partially insert one screw in a corner – leave it “proud” or sticking out a bit so you can attach the twine to it. Repeat so there are three screws down each side of the frame, two across the bottom and one in the middle at the top.
STEP TWO Tie a knot at one end of your twine, leaving a small loop. Place this loop over a screw in one corner, then wrap the twine around the screw in the diagonally opposite corner.
STEP THREE Continue to zigzag the twine across and along the frame, wrapping it securely around the screws, to create a beautiful pattern of twine. STEP FOUR Turn the frame back over. Use the wooden pegs to attach your favourite photos to the twine.
