July is the time to plant for colour. If you planted spring-flowering bulbs they should start to come through soon. Otherwise, pick up some flowering punnets or pot plants from your nursery. There’s no better way to add colour to your home’s entry than with flowering annuals in pots placed beside the front door, in hanging baskets or to line an entrance path, perhaps underneath standard roses or deciduous trees. Try cinerarias, polyanthus, primulas or azaleas.
