LIVING

Try it This look shouldn’t scream anything – it should be cool and calm. Here, the buttoned leather ottoman that acts as a coffee table stands out next to the white walls and unembellished windows. The linen-covered seating is also light to make the cushions pop. Copper accessories shine and subtle details reveal themselves on the plant pot and rug. AN ALMOST TOTAL ABSENCE OF PATTERN defines this look because it’s about tone and texture. Creamy beiges, warm browns, soft greys and real greens – the colours you see in the country, or a park if you’re short on time – are the starting points, with a few dark and coppery flashes (think neutrals at night). There’s texture in wood and tile, leather and textiles, all hailing from nature, too. Combine with confidence and add greenery inside or via a window.

BATHROOM

Try it Bathrooms are hard places that need softening. Natural-neutral timber touches can do this in the form of framed mirrors, ladders, trays or – our favourite – a little stool in the corner or beside the bath. Strategically place a few towels in natural hues and finish with bath products in low-key packaging that’s branded simply or not at all.

DINING

Try it Natural wood is a timeless material that’s perfect for dining tables. An aged timber table can even be paired with timber chairs as long as you break it up with contrast, in this case a green wall of windows nearby and candles above.

Top the table with boards or trays that don’t necessarily match but celebrate the grain and include some unpolished metal trophies or rustic candleholders.
