5 WAYS TO REDUCE THE IMPACT OF SITTING AT A DESK
1 Try and organise regular work meetings away from your desk. Walking meetings are great and gaining popularity.
2 Put a timer on your computer or smartphone prompting you to stand and stretch every hour. Get your whole team at work involved so it becomes a group effort and you don’t feel self-conscious.
3 To try and loosen your body during part of the day, walk to and from work, or walk around for as long as you can during your lunch hour. If possible, try not to sit for longer than three hours at a stretch.
4 Do yoga or Pilates classes regularly to improve flexibility, keep core strength active and correct posture.
5 Drink pure water or herbal tea for healthy hydration.
