OVER 50? STAY ACTIVE AND INVOLVED
For those aged over 50, Dr Gates says that various studies show working longer into older age is associated with lower dementia risk. Keeping socially active is also beneficial and learning a language, studying your family history, practising a new skill and changing your routines often – including getting out of your comfort zones by travelling to a new destination, for example – is also recommended. “Make being curious a lifelong habit,” she advises.
