You will need A pair of curtains; two lengths of fabric in patterns of your choice (they need to be 10cm longer than the total width of your curtains); scissors; iron; sewing pins; sewing machine.

STEP ONE First, cut lengths of fabric in preferred widths and lengths. You’ll need two strips for each curtain. Hem edges.

STEP TWO Join first two strips of fabric, right sides in, lining up edges along one side. Sew edge with sewing machine.

STEP THREE Open up the sewn strips of fabric and iron.

STEP FOUR Lay out one of the curtains so it’s flat and smooth. Position the sewn fabric over the curtain at a level you feel looks best visually. Pin fabric in place.

STEP FIVE Fold the ends of the fabric over the curtain hems and sew in place. Now sew along edges of the fabric. Repeat steps two to five for second curtain.
