MITCHELL’S LOG TABLE
You will need 1 x electric drill; 1 x 5 mm batten screw driver bit;
25 x 14g x 100mm bugle head timber batten screws; 1 x 200mm x 2400mm treated pine log (cut into 1 x 450mm length and 6 x 250mm lengths); 1 x long 5mm timber drill bit; timber putty; coarse sandpaper; 1 x paintbrush; 1 x 1L tin of your favourite paint.
ONE Drill screws at six equal intervals around side of large stump, until halfway inserted. Use 5mm drill bit to drill a pilot hole in the side of each small stump.
TWO Drill a second pilot hole in each small stump, at a location 90-degrees around to the right from the first. On the opposite side of these holes, half-insert a screw.
THREE Attach a small stump to the large using the first pilot hole. When attaching the second small stump, use the second screw and pilot hole to attach both to the large stump and the small one beside it.
FOUR Use timber putty to cover screw heads. When putty is set, sand with coarse sandpaper and paint.
