THIS TWO-BEDROOM APARTMENT
has the potential to fetch top dollar when the homeowner, Penny, eventually decides to sell up and move. Located in a Sydney suburb where property prices have skyrocketed in recent years, and set well back from the busy road it’s situated on, the apartment has remained virtually unchanged since Penny bought it 27 years ago. For the most part, it still looked the same as it did when she walked in the door all those years ago – fair to say it was stuck in a time warp. With a budget of just $15,000, my challenge was to reinvent its drab interior so it had mass appeal.
With this budget, the changes had to remain purely cosmetic, but the transformation had to be a dramatic one. Here’s what my team and I pulled off in just three intensive days.
