Handy hints to make life easier.

TO PRESERVE IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON PRESCRIPTION MEDICINE BOTTLES, BRUSH OVER LABELS WITH CLEAR NAIL VARNISH. THEN THE LABEL WON’T BE SMUDGED BY WATER.

Next time you’re making muffins, mix extra batches of dry ingredients into airtight containers. Label with the type of muffin and what needs to be added. For example, “Chocolate Chip Muffins, add an egg and half a cup of milk”. They’re quick to prepare and great for busy mornings or when unexpected guests pop in. Saves on cleaning up, too!

When you’ve finished decorating, don’t throw away the SWATCHES you used for your soft furnishings or as colour inspiration. File them by room and keep them handy. When you go shopping for new lampshades, homewares or furniture in the future, you can take them with you and make sure your purchase fits perfectly into the mix.

IF THE SMELL OF PAINT GOES FOR YOUR SINUSES, PEEL A ONIONS FEW AND LEAVE IN THE ROOM. THEY’LL ABSORB THE CHEMICAL SMELL!

HERE’S A GREAT IDEA FOR THOSE WHO ARE DISTURBED BY UNWANTED HOUSEHOLD NOISE TRAVELLING INTO BEDROOMS. SIMPLY REPLACE HOLLOW CORE INTERNAL DOORS WITH EXTERNAL GRADE SOLID CORE DOORS. AS THESE ARE SOLID WOOD, A LOT LESS NOISE TRAVELS THROUGH THEM, MAKING BEDROOMS MUCH MORE PEACEFUL.
