One of the things I look forward to every month is poring over the readers’ homes pages to see all the brilliant ideas the owners have had. There’s nothing better than feeling inspired to make something yourself or discovering a creative or practical idea that will work perfectly in your own home.
Then again, it also makes me happy simply to see how clever people are
(is that just me?)
The beautiful home on this month’s cover satisfies all of the above. Jessica and her husband, Osvaldo, have a lovely and inviting home in Melbourne full of genius surprises; things that not only look fantastic, but can also save money. My favourites? The kitchen pendant lights created from Ikea bowls, the stunning feature wall behind her bed made from timber-look vinyl planks and the coffee table fashioned from a huge wooden cable reel. The inspiration doesn’t stop there… but I’ll leave you to discover more for yourself from page 30.
Talking of inspiring homes, in this issue we congratulate the winner of our Reader Home of the Year competition. Thanks to all who voted. It was a really successful competition and our winner, Alison Kuessner from Queensland, was stoked to have so many of you appreciate her home. We’ve re-run a few highlights from it on page 26.
Here’s to an inspirational April for us all.
